Did you ever wonder why your friends keep appearing in your facebooks ads? Things like, “Scott loves chocolate pretzels, check out the latest craze.” Or, Scott loved the latest IT Services Movie, how about you!?!” Things like this are a little bit maddening, especially since it is difficult to discern whether your friends said anything about these subjects or not — but Facebook sure will make you believe all your friends are talking about you! They do this of course to get you to click on links (operative word: marketing) you would otherwise skip without a batting a mouse click. So in essence, you have become a celebrity endorser on facebook, only the kind that doesn’t get paid for their work and doesn’t sue for millions in lost royalties.

If you want to stop being a participant in these advertising exploits, there are a few Facebook settings you will want to adjust.

Perform the following steps to protect your FB assets:

Log in to your Facebook Account

Click on SETTINGS up at the top where you see the log out link.

Select PRIVACY –> Select NEWS FEEDS AND WALL –> Select the tab that reads FACE BOOK ADS.

Here, there is a drop down box, select No One

Then SAVE your changes.

Pass this around to all the Facebook celebrities in your virtual world.
